So, I have been seriously considering going with an aftermarket cam gear; BDE ones to be exact. From what I have been able to find, any other aftermarket cam gear removes the VTC and that is a bad thing. Can someone explain to me exactly the positives of VTC and why it would hurt performance to remove it.What are the differences between the JUN, Tomei, and BDE cam gears, other than the BDE keeps VTC and the others remove it? I will be running JWT R5 cams with 1mm OS Ferrea valvetrain. Would it be recommended to move to an aftermarket setup for my build, or retain the OEM gears. By the way, my current cam gears work flawlessly. No leaking, no ticking... they are pristine. But I don't want to get 4k down the road and think... "damn, I guess I should have gotten those."
